Robust Fund, New Leader + Focused Vision

The Future is Now

The Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County is making an economic impact, fighting poverty and improving lives by spurring the development of affordable housing through lending. Now, we’re heading into our 21st year with incredible assets:

The Mission is Personal

Our new CEO, Lark T. Mallory, has been passionately vested in AHT’s work for several years—first as a board member, then as General Counsel and Director of Community Development Financial Institution Investments. She was also recently appointed to the Federal Reserve of Cleveland’s Community Advisory Council. Welcome, Lark!

The Potential is Limitless

We've already got positive momentum:

  • Adjusted our Housing Action Fund borrower requirements to make funds more user-friendly for developers
  • Began outreach to minority-led and women-led development companies, resulting in funding our first minority-owned private developer, which will bring 27 units of modern, one-bedroom rental housing to Woodland Park
  • Received our first-ever CDFI grants—$4.7M that we’ll use to incentivize developers to use our revised Housing Action FundReceived our first-ever CDFI grants—$4.7M that we’ll use to incentivize developers to use our revised Housing Action Fund
  • Increased funding from our Community Development Collaborative, including more funding from a longtime contributor, a new funder coming on board and a match from The Columbus Foundation
