President & CEO

Lark Mallory is a trusted advisor to her clients, bringing business insight and expertise to complex business situations with expert legal, financial, tax, and governance insights.


Currently, Lark serves as President and CEO for the Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County, a business that provides financing to developers of affordable housing. The loan portfolio includes construction loans, traditional single property loans and structured financing and bond transactions. She is also Fund Manager for the organization’s $100M Housing Action Fund. Previously, she served as General Counsel and Board Secretary for the organization.


Prior to joining the Affordable Housing Trust, Lark was a partner with a 500 member/partner law firm with an eight state footprint. She focused her practice on advising businesses and individuals, in the core areas of corporate and business law, financing, commercial real estate, and tax planning. She also counseled clients regarding entity selection, formation and governance; capitalization and financing, including private equity.


Lark served as the outside general counsel to a real estate development company with more than 5 million square feet under management and more than 3 million square feet operated. She led negotiations and structured acquisitions and dispositions, finance transactions, and lease agreements. The finance structures often included multiple sources, including private activity bonds and new market tax credits.


She also guided the company through a complicated multistate 1031 exchange that involved multiple finance companies, taxing jurisdictions and the Internal Revenue Service.


Prior to accepting her current position with the Affordable Housing Trust, Lark served on its board of directors where she chaired the governance committee and was a member of the finance committee. Lark currently serves on the boards of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and River South – an organization that issues bonds to support the development efforts in the River South area of downtown Columbus, Ohio.


Lark is a member of the American Law Institute; a CPA (inactive) and has a B.S.B.A. in accounting and a law degree from The Ohio State University and an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law. She resides with her family in Columbus, Ohio.
